Question Archer fish Question

Hey I have 2 Archer fish and 6 Balloon mollies in my 75 Gal Brackish water tank. I just recently added my second Archer a couple days ago and noticed that they change their color quite frequently from being a beautiful silver yellow color to completely black. I found it odd but they do it all day long back and forth... had anyone else noticed this same thing happening with their archer fish?

Yes I had a pair of them to. They are caught in the wild. It is there camo to hide. And also when water changs are needed do to stress..... They are very pretty fish. I found thay like to eat live fish and live crikets and krill to keep ther colors brighter. Did you know that they can spit water to knok down the bugs in the air.? You should take some pics and show us.

I also have an archer. Mine acts like yours, back and forth never still.
I have not noticed any color changes in mine. Did the color changes start when you added the second archer?

its happened before when I reached in the tank and he was kinda spooked but when I added the second archer it happened more frequently and at a more rapid pace.. The anal fin is the one that changes the most from a black trim around it with yellow/silver in the middle to fully black almost instantly its pretty cool to watch.

Can't say for sure, but I believe they turn the darker color when they are stressed.
Mine was of a darker color when at the fish store and lightened up after being with me a few days.
I was at the fish store today and noticed one that was very dark in color.

I have read, that having more than one in the tank, it is not uncommon for them to fight with their own species, so keep an eye on them
