Question Is it still Live Rock

I had a 12 saltwater nano cube that was up and running for about 2 years. About a year ago my ballast and lights started to rust and the lights stopped working since it was an old tank jbj nano cube switch to a different type of tank. So instead of getting a new tank i just left it running without any lights and switched totally over to freshwater. The tank was left running with the filter always on along with the heater running. The tank was kept at 79 F(26 C). However since the light went out it as only been exposed traces from the light in the room and a little sun light.

I want to start a new salt water tank and was wondering if the liverock in the tank is still good as live rock, or should it be used as base rock and i need to buy new live rock. Any comments or questions would be a help. Thanks in advance!!!

they rock isnt going to be "live" after being used in freshwater

your going to need a few pieces of cured live rock to seed it with

also, if you ever used and medications in the freshwater setup they could have leached into the rock and will leach back out over time. in particular, anything with copper

So long as it was indeed used in FW then yes it'll still be live. I"ve used a refugium with no lights and just flow and it started growing some new kinds of sponge.
