ive got a couple of beginner questions here please help.
when replacing evaporated water, should i use distilled or saltwater?
some guy told my friend he should cycle his tank every couple of weeks? i thought cycling was just at the start to get things going :?: :?:
you will want to use freshwater, preferable ro-di, when replacing evaporated water b/c the salt itself stays in the tank and replacing it with saltwater will eventually lead to high salinity. As far as cycling, unless you somehow sterilize the nitrifying bacteria in your tank, you should only have to cycle once, your friend might be referring to water changes, which are necessary every few weeks : )
alright thanks, because they sell it for like 72 cents a gallon. which do you prefer, saltwater from the ocean, or the kind you mix togethor?
