Possible Reefer

Christmas is quickly approaching and I am thinking about getting another tank. I have decided to try something different and a little more challenging than my 20 gallon freshwater tank. The only thing that still has me debating about trying this challenge is the cost of saltwater setups. If I were to do this then I would get a 40 gallon breeder tank. 36"x18"x16". I am trying to find a cheap light that will fit this tank and be ok over an open top. I plan to make this a reef tank so the light would have to be capable of supporting corals. I would also get a sump right away to save money down the road. What equipment would I need and where can I get it cheap? I am just trying to get an idea of the cost vs a 75 gallon freshwater setup. Thanks for all the help guys and I hope to be able to afford this setup.

Advice for anyone new to the hobby: Do your research!! Before you do anything to your aquarium, take some time to research it. It has made a huge difference for me

S.A. Flooded Jungle (20 gallon)

Can't compare with freashwater cost. Your cost on the 75 fresh is still nothing.
CHeap buys are CL and E-bay
Saltwater Fish Aquarium Setup
In a nut shell, there ya go. Your cost will be more than a freshwater hands down, but what you can do with that is by far in my opinion, much nicer to look at.
