Having trouble with searching this question.... and beforehand SORRY.

When i buy a new fish how long should i quarantine the fish? and do i put in any sort of medicine or anything for fear of ich, fungus, etc....?

SORRY again the search button is just way overloaded and doesn't break down the search even when i add + in between words.

1st off welcome to TFK!!!!!!!!!!!

2nd there is an article about QT's here http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/s...ne-tank-35693/

but the short answer is clean water is the best medicine!!! add chemicals only as a last resort if you know what you are adding them for!!

Welcome to the forum Tommy. I've searched your other posts and didn't find any details on your setup. I'd suggest starting a build thread in the "Pictures and Videos" forum. We can help guide you along from day 1 until you have a successful system in place.

Also, read some of those build threads because you will learn a lot!

yeah that is what ive gathered from researching this thread. that is why ive gotten a quarantine tank before adding any fishes it also is the reason why i havent added any fish yet. my corals have been going for 2 months and look pretty healthy. water quality is always good(ph, nitrates, nitrates, ammonia, etc. i wanted a main attraction like a lionfish but did not want it dying instantly in my tank or bringing in some sort of parasite or disease. lol

alright now to read that thread... thank you guys!!!
