Just need advice!

So i am contemplating setting up a saltwater aquarium. i have had about 3 years experience with freshwater and have finally decided to try a saltwater aquarium. i have also decided i want it to be FOWLR tank. i would like to know suggestions on size (i was thinking a 55 - 75), filtration, lighting, if i get live rock would i need live sand, do i need a protein skimmer, and anything else you can think of that would be helpful. thanks in advance!

hey there.. i know i often reply with the same thing but here goes....
start here http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/m...shwater-31955/

as for a skimmer on a tank that size i would say definitively yes you should get one i would also suggest a sump/refugium so that you could get the largest possible skimmer and house it there and not have it blocking up your Display tank....

dependent on the actual size of the tank and what not would dependon lighting but i will let others more experienced here offer their words of wisdom....

welcom to the best addiction you will ever experience LOL

The price difference from a 55 to 75 will be very minimal. I can not think of any situation where I would set up a 55 gallon. The 75 will provide a whole lot more flexibility in aquascapping design and fish selection.

I would be happy to give you some very specific recommendations. One key question first. Will you be using a sump?
