I have t-5s and I have the lights on about 9 hours a day. I cut back from 12 hours on due to a hair algae problem and since the cutback, I haven't had a problem in 2 years!

Thanks for starting the thread fredo. I had the same question. SPS is also what I've been thinking of doing and had no idea as to how long to leave them on for.

So the schedule is either 9-12 hours on, now my question is, how many bulbs are you guys using for T5's, because im sure the number of bulbs also change how long you leave them on for.

Cheers!

I was told that 4 bulbs would be sufficient for a few SPS, but if you want to have a lot of them through out your tank you want to go 6 bulbs. Agian, Thas what i heard.

The amount of bulbs depends on the size of the tank. I have six bulbs, 3 -54 watt, 12,0000 ks or 10,000 depending on what's in stock and 3-54 wattt actinics. I prefer 12'000 ks. I have this on my 75 gal. tank and it fits nicely. When I had my 55 gal. tank, I could only fit 4 bulbs, 2 - 12'000 ks and 2- actinics
