Getting started, know what I want. What do I need?

I have recently made the decision that I want to get into the saltwater side of things. I know that I would like to have a lionfish and possibly a snowflake moray eel in my setup. My question is what will I need as far as tank size, etc?

I definitely want to go with a fish only at this point. From the reading that I have been doing it seems like a wet/dry filter would be the way to go.

As far as everything else i will need from what I can tell it is:
argonite sand
live rock
heater
ro/di water
hydrometer
thermometer
& test kits for ammonia nitrate and calcium

Am I missing anything else?

Also, what is a rough estimate of my cost when its all said and done?

Thanks, Joe

With a fish only set up I'd swap the money from an RO unit for a good skimmer. It won't matter much if you don't have perfect water (still dechlorinate) as you won't have sensitive corals to kill. A skimmer will help keep the water cleaner for such messy fish. Personally I don't like to see lionfish in anything smaller than a 150 brick tank. Bricks are about as wide as they are tall, unlike a traditional 125 being 12" wide x 18" tall. They grow to be big fish with broad fins, they need the additional room. A fair sized snowflake would make a good tank mate. In fact I'd maybe add a zebra moray as well. That's when I'd stop adding fish as they could quickly foul the water at each feeding.
