Cycling - Lighting

Hi,

I'm starting a much bigger tank than I'm use to and going for a reef tank this time. It's a 80 gallon reef tank.

I currently have 2x 50/50 Power Compact 96 Watt bulbs and a MH.

My question is How long do you keep the lights on for? Silly I know I should know this by now

Start at 4hrs per day and increase by 1 hour per week?
What is a good starting point for each forum of light? Power Compact and Metal Halide
I currently run the PC for 2 hrs and the MH for 45 mins in the middle of the PC time.
I think this is way to short, but I thought slow is good.

Thanks!

Hi, you haven't said what is in the tank or how long it has been running. Has the tank finished it's initial cycle ?
