Adding seashells

i found some seashells on the beach, and i thought they would be pretty in my aquarium. 40 gal, saltwater, inhabitants: clownfish, hippo tang, snowflake eel. I sterilized them in hot water, but am being cautious to add them. Would it be safe to add them? do i need to take any more precautions? thanks
