how long is the light?
I'm inclined to say that you should be able to grow lowlight plants without any problems
but asking for more info on the light is probably better^_^

Since its a 30' tank should be a 24' bulb

How come no floaters? Too short of a tank? I had planned on using some.

they might block out too much light ^_^ but since I've never owned a T5NO I'm running on assumptions. It could be brighter~ you should wait for the input of other members as well :)

you should be fine, look at JDM's tank, his is low light LED comparable to a single t5 NO and his tank is covered in duckweed and he is getting good results as far as my opinion goes.

(the shotgun approach to planting a tank) atleast I think that's his thread - its under the planted section

I have a single 30" 18 watt T5 (the 24" T5s are 14 watts) over my 29 and the crypts and java fern do well with it along with floating plants
