adding more than the recommended dose is "overdosing" whether or not it will hurt your fish is different. It is always best to keep the water as chemical free as possible so adding more than necessary, even if harmless, is just a waste. In terms of water conditioners that do more than dechlorinate, such as the ones that neutralize heavy metals, they will affect available metals in the water for plants and such.

Hey guys. Had my hc up and running in the established tank now for maybe a month. I bought a mini co2 kit about 10 days ago. Woke up this morning and noticed my hc looks almost like its thinned out a little. Is this a bad thing? It's still all nice and green, just seems to be thinner than it was in some sections. I put about 14 crs in there 3 days ago. Maybe they r eating it?
