hey there!

just get a fluorencent light that has a kelvin rating of 6700k Daylight thats the best for growing plants! and make sure thats its atleast 1 watt per gallon and not too many watts because algae can grow really fast when your light is too powerful!!

good luck!!

please watch and share with friends and family.

Assuming this is the 40g "sub" tank, what you have sounds OK if the spectrum and kelvin are what "daylight" and "warm white" denote. I prefer cool white overall, but having seen your aquascape in this instance a slightly warmer white might work better. Esp if you get any "red" plants from that other thread, they will do a bit better with reddish (warm) white. Your daylight will still balance fine.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If youíre going to take it under your wing then youíre responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]
