what fish are good with plants?

hey guys ive always been keeping chiclids for prolly 15 yeats or so now. ive only got two left in my 46 gallow bowfront. ive really been liking the live plants as of late.

i have 3 big moss balls a sword plant i think 2 banana plants and this really cool plant i cant remember the name. it has long twisted really skinny leaves. i also have some of the duckweed with the larger leaves on it. i fertalize twice a week with flourish and have 2 39w t-5 6500k bulbs that run for maybe 6 hours a night. should i have the light on more?

my two fish rip on each other nonstop. im entertaining going with different fish. i would like something that looks really cool with the plants and wont damage the plants.

ive only ever had larger fish so im not familiar with the really small species at all. do you guys have any reccomendations?

please forgive the bad typing my eyes arent working as good as they should but the retina doctor says it should go away.

To offer fish suggestions, we will need to know the water parameters you are working with, i.e., the tap water GH (general hardness), KH (Alkalinity or carbonate hardness) and pH. And the two cichlids will be going, correct?

yes its tap water, the ph is about 7 i havent checked it in a while. honestly in all my years of fish keeping ive never checked gk or kh.

i would remove the two cichlids if i changed the tank. i also picked up a few more plants today after work.

The GH (general hardness) is important to fish, even more than pH. You can get this from your municipal water supply people, they probably have a website; if you can't fathom it, post the link and I can take a look. The KH is less important as it does not affect fish at all, but it does serve to "buffer" the pH, so this (the KH which is carbonate hardness, or Alkalinity) is worth knowing as it will tell us if the pH may lower or not.
