I am sure that the size of the catch is species dependent, some can grow bladders as large as 1.2 cm and can catch small tadpoles... the ones that we see in the aquarium probably are not such beasts.

Oh, they don't have to completely capture the prey, they snag the tail and can slowly digest and suck the rest in. Very interesting processes going on to do that.


Total years fish keeping experience: 7 months, can't start counting in years for a while yet.

Okay now I'm officially even more creeped out. This is right up next to leeches on my list of aquarium ickies I didn't ever want to know about.
