Could it be stringy moss or bladderwort?

SeaHorse, jennesque and Chesh like this.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

It seems like it may be bladderwort... =/

That's funny, bladderwort came to mind, but when I looked up pictures I just found a lot of pictures of it's flowers. If you type in bladderwort aquarium, pictures do pop up that look very similar to what I have. I thought this was carnivorous - so it shouldn't be sucking the life out of my wisteria, right?

By the way, bladderwort are in bloom around here this time of the year, and they're beautiful. I went on a boat ride out on the swamp the other week and saw it's little yellow blossoms.. the lillies were also in bloom! (This is actually the swamp where that boat scene in the Notebook is film, so if you've seen the movie you can probably sortof imagine what it looked like)

Jennesque, I have that exact same stuff in my betta tank. All of the plants in that tank came from other tanks that don't have this strange stuff. I was thinking that it was some sort of advanced algae. The betta tank receives sunlight and DIY CO2 . It looks exactly like your photo.
