Yes. Java Moss will attach to wood and rock, and once established (this can sometimes take a few weeks) spread nicely. I'm regularly pulling out chunks. It does better in low to moderate light, and with floating plants for cover. Changing the light siutation in my experience sets it back, but it recovers after a few weeks.
