Trouble with hairgrass

Can't really figure out why it's doing badly.. Maybe the cories don't like it.

It grows, but it seems like it's dying faster than it's growing. Perhaps it needs a liquid fertiliser? (There's no soil in the front of the tank- stupid me.)

I broke a couple root tabs up into pieces and placed them beside the hairgrass... We'll see if it works.

I'm going to borrow some flourish from a friend to see if it's worth adding to a soil tank.

I was just talking about hairgrass yesterday with one of the employees and I unfortunately don't remember if we were talking about the hairgrass or micro swords at the time, but he said they need a pretty hot light. So I guess take that for whatever its worth haha.
