That's good; just front of the heater, slightly more front of centre, slightly off-centre (to left) in the tank, should work fine. It needs room to spread out as swords do (except E. major which grows much more vertically and is thus excellent in rear corners, etc).

Try the E. Blehiri Compacta- it's one of my favorites for small tanks, maxing out at around 12 inches wide. (sounds big, but isn't really.)
