Thinning leaves...

Hi there can someone tell me what is causeing my leaves on this plant to do this. Its a 20 gallon long tank the light is a daylight 6500 and it is on about 8 hours a day plus it gets some indirect sunlight before the lights come on, all the other plants are doing fine its just this one. I believe it is a sword plant and I dose with flourish once a week but I can not remember if I have put a root tab in within the last three months.

Kindest Regards,
Amanda

I know that if swords do not get enough iron they can start to develop holes in the leaves, I saw this happen with mine before I added root tabs.

Various nutrient issues can cause this, I have it occurring in one of my tanks, and the one with the Flourite enriched substrate ironically. Increasing Flourish Comprehensive has helped. I had stopped the Flourish, to see if the substrate was adequate, obviously not. If you are dosing Flourish once, you might want to do twice a week. A day following the water change (if you use a conditioner that detoxifies heavy metals), and then 3 days after that. The dose recommended on the label, 2.5 ml (=1/2 teaspoon) per 30 gallons at each application.

i would cut off the melting leaves and remove them cause it will dirty the water.i put mine in a white plastic container and added fert so it could grow healthy again before returning it to my main tanks.that way it won't make my tank look less appealing.plus i gets all the fert it needs without sharing with the rest.
