My 3 favorite in my 37g are the Ozelot Green Sword,Leopard Vallisnaria, and Crypt. Wendtii Bronze. The Ozelot makes a nice, big background plant and has red spots on the leaves. The Leopard Val. is in the back corner behind driftwood and has grown to the top of the tank and the Crypt. Wendtii Bronze is a nice contrast in color in the mid-ground.I just ordered plants for my 50g so I'll let you know how I like those. You can click on my aquariums to see the 37g.It's grown since I took that pic. so I need to update it.

My 3 favorite definitely include my Amazon Sword which has gotten quite large, is bright Green in color and grows easily. Also, my fish that are busy trying to eat or uproot everything in the tank have not been able to damage that at all.

I also love my Cabomba and Anacharis. These are both really beautiful in groups. The thicker, the better IMO Mine were lovely before My Leporinus decided that they are much fun to eat and uproot. Still, they manage to grow fast and are very attractive in the aquarium. Nice for sides and backgrounds as they can grow quite tall.

Nymphaea zenkeri (Red Tiger Lotus), Hygrophila corymbosa ‘Angustifolia’, and Cryptocoryne wendtii.
All three plants have different "textures" and vary in color and I enjoy seeing that in my tanks. These plants grow really well for me, which may be the biggest reason that they are my favorites.

I like dwarf sag, mostly because it's the only grasslike plant I've tried to grow and it grew well. :)

I also like Ludwigea Repens (nice deep purple color on the underside of the leaves and easy to grow) and java fern since its just about bulletproof and looks nice in a huge bunch.

Oh and I like aponogeton crispus. I bought some of those dry aquarium plant bulbs at wal-mart and it actually grew.

Those aponogeton bulbs are a shot in the dark. With 3 different packs I've had 3 COMPLETELY different plants grow. Everything from leaf colors to height, leaf shape, and growing pattern.

Oh I know. :)

I'm considering buying more, but I'll probably just order them online. I can get the species I want for the same price of a grab bag that may or may not grow.
