Another think I thought about is that I do have some topsoi mixed in the substrate. Each layer having less topsoil and more sand till you get to the top which is all sand. I am wondering since the sword is sitting next to the big piece of driftwood if the roots are hitting a pocket of gas ( I always poke the substrate so there is not a buildup but have never moved the driftwood to do so.). Would this play into account here? Other then that I can not think of anything else. This coming up weekend (when I finally get a day off) I am planing on draining the entire tank so I can move it to the new stand I got. Now I am thinking I am going to replace the substrate again as well.
