I'm so sorry you lost her.

I don't think our stores have the same distributor, but I know that my store has been getting some gorgeous female bettas in lately.

Well, went and finished my stock today. despite my previous mishap i decided to up the neon school back to 8. I finished my harly school with 10 and i got another female betta. a nice pretty lavender color. I also decided to get some meds for future needs. Got API Melafix, Pimafix, (forgive bad misspelling) and Super Ich treatment . Hopefully I'll never have to use them but they're nice to have in case something pops up. i didn't get aquarium salt because I have cories, and I know you shouldn't use salt with them anyways. Petsmart had a 2.5g tank for 15$ so if I don't find a 10g soon (petsmart was out and I couldn't find the price sticker) i'll get the 2.5g and a small filter/heater so that in the future if i do need to use aquarium salt, i'll have a spare tank. I could put fish in one of my buckets if I need to treat with salt but... again.. no filter or heater so I feel that would be pointless.

Jr. will never be like her predecessor but... i'm hoping she'll have a interesting personality as well. she seems a lot more... 'chill' then original Tiger did. Was putting in some cucumber for my Pleco and she just.. sat there by my hand P: hopefully thats just her personality and not an issue. she seems to be active.

In the future i was thinking about getting 2 more female bettas if it would work out. was ganna get them today but i only liked one other, a blue crowntail that had this AMAZING blue shimmer to her, I saw a red one but it looked like she had white spots on her so I passed it up. But it wont be for awhile. Ganna get a camcorder with my next paycheck so that I can finally do all the vids I wanted :D Canon. $200... so it better be amazing. It looked nice.

So with putting veggies in the tank... should I take the uneaten out after 24hrs? I'd imagine so. Also, what's the best placed to put them for my pleco? I currently have it under the slate 'caves' so it's more secure for him/her to munch on. I could put it under the driftwood too I guess, but i figured those were better than smack dab out in the open. I got some cucumber i chopped up and put the rest in the freezer, got some peas, and broccoli :P How often should i put veggies int he tank? every day? every other day? once a week?

If you decide on more bettas, you need to keep at least 5 to keep a proper pecking order and to properly spread aggression. There will be a lot of fighting in the beginning but just let them do their thing unless they are actually killing one another.
