star moss

SO, I bought some star moss from aquatic magic online for like 6$ and free shipping. I didn't really expect it to come as they didn't send me an order confirmation or a tracking number. But it did come within like 2 weeks, and it looks like it is alive, as in it is bright lime green colored and looks like little stars all on a maybe 3x4 what looks like plastic mesh folded over and closed over it. One side of the moss looks like there is a clay on it, while the other side of it looks to have the moss. Am I suppose to take it out of the plastic mesh thingy?

Leave the mesh on if you want to just have the moss resting on the substrate. If you're going to tie it somewhere you can take it off. BTW, and I'm sorry to say this, everyone I've talked to that had that moss had it die after two or three months. Seems it's a terrestrial moss.

Yeah, after doing some research I see that it is not going to do well in the aquarium. Kinda sucks cause it looks neat, I geuss the good thing is I actually got it from them, and they do sell flame and other mosses for alot cheaper than the other places I have found. Maybe I can order one of those.
