I currently have a tennis ball sized marimo in my 5 Gallon tank. I like it in there, but i would also like one in my 20gal and if i end up getting the 30 gal i would like some in there too. i heard that if a marimo is large enough it can be split into several small marimo. does anyone know how to do this? any advice would be appreciated
I pulled mine apart and now I have two not very attractive halves...one mostly flat...I think your supposed to use a small rubber band to hold them together until they grow enough to hold themselves. One of these days, I'll get around to trying.
i read somehwere they are supposed to roll around in the tank
maybe if yours rolls around a bit itll be pretty again?
sorry you pulled yours apart to test for me D:
you could probably tie some string tightly around it and tighten it slightly each day to eventualy split it but thats just my 2 cents
