Is this normal? Ignore the algae as I have been.

Ive seen that before in my tank too, right after a water change there was a really fast steady stream of bubbles for about a half an hour.

I see this a lot during several hours (until dark) after the water change, but never subsequent to that.
It is harmless.

"Pearling" is oxygen bubbling from the leaves as a result of very fast photosynthesis. Those who diffuse CO2 into their tanks frequently see this, if the light and other nutrients are balanced. One botanist told me I saw it after a water change because of the excess CO2 in the tap water.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

It is pearling, but a really steady stream from a single point usually means a small area of damage into a leaf vein. The bubbles are escaping oxygen and eventually will stop due to the plants response. Normally pearling is from a build up of oxygen underneath the leaves due to photosynthesis. Eventually the bubbles become large enough to escape or are dislodge by some force.

.... I'm probably drunk.

This is how I lurk
