Rosette sword stays pretty small, crypt size often depends on light levels. Lots of plants will stay shorter in higher light (not swords, obviously!). Micro crypt is a nice short plant for me, so far.

How short?
My Cryptocoryne lutea stays small.
Anubias Nana Petite stays bitty, too - a rhizome plant.
Both have been very easy to care for in my low light tanks so far. ^__^
Hope this helps!

glosso, staurogene repens, dwarf baby tears, riccia and dwarf hair grass. some of these will need to be trimmed. others will need to be anchored.

rizome and stolon plants are preferred

8-10" is max preferred size substrate to tip

edible is preferred (by fish)
-otherwise java fern would be great, dish don't like java fern though
