OK, I guess I will just see how my plants are doing. I've just got java moss which is very slowly growing, anibias which do sprout new green leaves.. and my pennywort has recently been losing some leaves, but I've been pulling it out of the tank each time I'm adding or removing other plants so I think that's the main issue. It doesn't grow like a weed while floating in my tank, but certainly much faster than the other plants.

It's sometimes hard to put things in words; and it is true that with experience (time) one gets to recognize things fairly quickly. So I can't offer much more at present. Keep an eye on things. Plants do go through rest phases and perid of increased growth sometimes. On the Pennywort, a photo of the leaves may help me to see something.

The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. [unknown source]

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]
