So my brother currently has a 10g tank running with some floating water sprite in it. The water sprite is doing really well and has become quite big. He said since he has 3-4 really big pieces I could take one for my 40g. Here's the thing though... he doesn't care for his fish tank that well. He does a water change maybe once a month even though I'm always harassing him about it. His tank has a pair of breeding Kribensis in it with 3 otos and some snails. It's not heavily stocked and all the fish seem healthy and there's never been a disease outbreak in his tank before so should I quarantine the plant somehow? The tank is pretty filthy but the fish seem unaffected because he has lots of live plants and duckweed in it so I assume that's helping keep them healthy. Whats the possibility that there's something in there to affect my fish? The other problem is I don't have anything to keep it in for quarantining it so what could work for a short time?
