Are you sure the plant isn't dwarf sag? It looks almost exactly like mine.
I'd put one in a bucket of aquarium water when you plant the rest outside.
If the ones you plant outside are dead in a couple days, put'em back in the tank.

Byron, until I can find some sort of plant to shade the ferns, I've put a piece of tinfoil over their corner of the tank. I'll see how it goes.

redchigh, I had actually been having problems with the bottoms turning brown and leaves turning yellow, holey, and stringy. So I'm assuming it's not aquatic.
