Uhhhh, if your fish are floating that usually is not a good sign

Regarding plants from floating, Try burying them deeper in the substrate or gathering a slightly larger pile around the base. What type of plant are you referring to?

mist [plants] out LOL.not sure what they are.The plants are long ones which go at the side and back of the tank.Mark

so... stem plants.

You just bury the ends in the gravel... if your gravel is too large sometimes you'll have trouble getting them to stay..

Try laying a rock on them to weigh them down... After a few weeks you can remove the rock... they will root themselves from mid-stem.
