planted 8 gallon tank??

im really keen on changing my bare 8 gallon grow out tank into a planted betta tank, and was wondering if any one had some good advice or good websites. i dont have the best lights so im going with low light plants (might use cuttings from my plant in my 29 gallon thats thriving) any suggestions? i also came across this aquarium plant peat, and was wondering if anyone has ever used something similar, i want to put that down then a thin layer of black, brown or white gravel over the top. this is going to sound like a stupid question but do plants need a certain temperature to do well? thanks :D

I am personally hooked on Baylees fishies for my plants and substrate. Anything over $20 is free shiping. I even bought a huge box of their substaret and it shipped for free! The subrate is awesome BTW, and very beautiful IMO. They ahve all the absic plants, not a huge selection of high tech ones, but everything I could want. And when you get these plants they are beautiful!! I ordered elsewhere and the plants I got were hardly more than stems, these I got from Baylees were lush full plants. Each plant come individually sealed in a little plastic baggie. I also ordered java mos, and the description sai "golf ball sized" but it was really compacted and came in one of those little Glad disposable bowls with a lid. (just to give an idea of how much I really got) The shipping took a week or a bit less. I think the link is

also here is a link to a site with a list of low light plants

cajunmomof4 thanks :D ill see wether i order or get my lfs to order, it depends what they can get in. thanks for the link :D, yea im thinking of keeping the temperature as it is and see how it goes. im also thinking of going with java moss either as a backgroud or on a coconut (make a cave out of the coconut). thanks

Edit: checked the bayleesfishees, and i remember them from aquabid as they do alot of auctions there, and their plants do look great. Thanks again for the link :D
