Plant suggestions

I need some easy-to-grow plants that can survive well in decent conditions. I have rounder-gravel, lots of driftwood, and a big open spot in the back for tall plants. I already have two plants in the tank that are in small pots (way I bought it). I plan on adding Java Fern to my driftwood and DIY Coconut
caves. I need some shorter plants for the gaps in between, and some larger plants for the back of my tank. It is a 30G tank by teh way.

I plan on using this set-up for a CO2 system:

I have some CO2 tablets for now. I also have plant "food" that contains potassium and phosperates (I think). Not sure what my lighting is as I bought the tank used.

Vals grow tall, some crypts stay low. Crypts stay low and will form a number of new plants in good conditions. The vals will create a thick forest in a couple months and can be moved around to focus on the specific sections and look you want. Personally I like corkscrew vals and Crypt Lucens.

Ok. So I should add some Vals to the back of my tank, and Crypts along the sides? I am getting 2 Java ferns for my Coconut caves.

What would you suggest for smaller plants that plan to be in the front and middle of the tank?
