I bought my plants a while ago in labeled containers but I don't think the labels where right.

It said these where

Micranthemum umbrosum
and
Myriophyllum aquaticum

I goggled both these and they don't really look like my plants. Here are mine:

Note that these are 2 different plants in each picture

Neither of those plants is Micranthemum umbrosum, this is a very different looking plant; the best way I can describe it would be to say it somewhat resembles Bacopa in having ovate (round) leaves, not at all finely-divided pinnate leaves as in both your photos.

The first photo is, I think, Myriophyllum aquaticum; I am going from photos in my reference works, as I do not personally have this species. The second photo may be Limnophila aquatica. I am not very familiar with the many "ferny" stem plants, so I am basing my suggestions solely on photos. I won't insist on either without close-up photos of individual leaf stems.

Well this is almost impossible.. I love how Pjs pets can't even label their own plants right.

The only reason I want to know the species is cause I want to know how to trim these plants.
They seem to be doing very well so I don't really have to worry about supplementing anything I don't think.
I have about 1 watt per gallon (2 x 15 watt lights, 29g tank) and those 2 species are thriving the most in my tank.
