Question Plant identification help, please

I've yet again bought some plants without knowing what they are. The shops here aren't good at labelling and some staff don't know what all of the plants are.

Could somebody help with identifying what I've got so I can decide whether they can stay or whether they are better off in the compost bin? Thanks.

With the thickness of the leaves, it looks like an emmersed growth form of something, which means that the leaves look a little different now from how they'll look in a few months under water, (which makes an ID really tough, since I don't know much about emmersed aquatic plant growth). The general shape of the roots and stems looks like a sword, but if it is am emmersed growth, the leaves will be shaped differently for now, so I'm not sure what species it is. (Apparently, a lot of aquatic plant dealers start their plants off out of the water, in high humidity, where they'll grow much more quickly, and then sell them to fish stores where they're submerged.)
