Plant ID - San Francisco Airport Display Tank

Of course the first thing that caught my eye when I arrived at the San Francisco airport was this beautiful amazonian biotope tank in one of the waiting areas. The fish in there were pretty boring, couple congo tetras, a few pleco, no corys to be spotted :(

This crazy chaining floating plant caught my eye... anyone know what it is?

Also, the sword in the bottom left of the picture is developing holes, mine at home is doing the same... what is that a symptom of? (I regularly use Seachem Flourish, and recent started Seachem Root Tabs and Seachem Trace, and haven't seen much improvement...)

I thought that too, but I have it floating in mine and I most certainly do not get roots like that forming. Maybe mine's just weird.

As for the sword ... what's the GH of your source water?

I too think the floating plant is Brazilian Pennywort. I have used this as a floater several times, and it grows much like the photo.

As for the sword, one would need to know the GH of their water and what if any fertilizers they are using. Many plant problems can look the same or similar but be the result of various nutrient or light issues. As it would be pointless to concern ourselves with the conditions in the airport tank, let's hone in on your own (djrodan). And knowing the GH as Geo asked is the starting point. Also, how often do you dose the named products (Flourish Comprehensive and Flourish Trace)? And a photo of your plant would help too.

Byron.
