Which plant and bulb for 6G tank?

I got a new Eclipse System 6 tank today which will be housing a Betta and some tetras. I was wondering which would be a good plant and bulb to get. This is my first aquarium so I am pretty much clueless on certain things. Tomorrow I will be picking up the eco-complete and gravel and would also like to get the plants.

The tank uses a fluorescent bulb which is 12" long and 1/2" wide and the hood can take a max of 19.2 watts.

im rather clueless on the eclipse systems, so I dont really know the dimensions. But java fern is always a nice plant to start on, I dont think it gets too insanely tall and it grows well in most lighting conditions, just make sure you use a fertilizer of some sort like liquid or tablets.
