Wow, looks nice!
Is that some Cabomba on the right? Is it hard to grow?

That's Cabomba on the right . It's not supposed to be hard to grow, but there are a lot of different factors in giving plants the right environment. Have you read Byron's articles (stickies at the top of this forum)? They helped me a lot. Also you can read about it by clicking on the word Cabomba.

Steve

P.S. I'm still working on this tank - a work in progress.

Helathy looking plants, indeed, and a nice tank.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

Very nice! I have an old 10gal tank and equipment lying around and was toying with the idea of putting plants in it. I thought may be it is to small. Now I know it's not. Thanks for sharing. Are you using a CO2 system?

Go for it! Check your lighting and make sure it's around 6500 K color temp full spectrum. I put in floating Water Sprite since I took the picture. Don't have real results yet but it's supposed to be good for the tank. There are other floating plants you can use instead. Otherwise don't skimp on the plant density - you should have a lot of plants. Ask around for info on substrate options.

Ah, yes - you had a question... No, I'm not using any CO2 - just fast-growing "easy" plants to start out with: Cabomba, Wisteria, and Water Sprite (planted), and a few others like Dwarf Chain Sword.

Best of luck and success.

Thanks for the tip on the Water Sprite and other plants. I'm guessing that not all plants will require a co2 system. I need to do some more home work. Good Luck with your tank.
