I'm new to all the finer aspects of fertilizing a planted aquarium but this is my understanding: Macro Nutrients
include Nitrogen, Potassium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Sulfur, Calcium, Carbon, Oxygen, and Hydrogen. Micro Nutrients
include Iron, Manganese, Chlorine, Zinc, Boron, Nickel, Copper, and Molybdenum.
I'm using API pro series root tabs, Flourish, Flourish Excel, and Kent Pro Plant.
For some basic info take a look here: Jake’s Planted Aquarium Pages | Nutrients and Fertilizers
Also, I rely heavily on fish_4_all for my plant advice. He's been tremendous in helping me.
The ferts I'm now using are pricey and fish_4_all has given me a link for a place to purchase dry ferts that you mix yourself. Much cheaper! As soon as my current supplies dwindle I'll go the dry fert route.
