marsilea is a slow grower though, and in low light, ive read that it grows REALLY slow and goes taller rather than a carpet like glosso.

Well, I'm not sure how to consider the light. I'm spreading the foreground plants into at least two tanks... I have a 5 gallon in a window, with 20W of CFL over it... It should grow there at minimum.

All your Crypt should grow fine. I have Cryptocoyne (Wendii Red) it grows well in my low tech tank with a 15 watt. flourescent. I do not have Co2 either. I used to have all plastic plants. I switched them all out in all my tanks to low light plants below that I got from a friend that has low light, not Co2 also.

Cryptocoryne, Vallisneria, Java fern,Moneseleum Moss (Pellis), Wendolov Java fern, Java Moss, Hornwort, Chain Sword sagittaria, Riccia (Cyrstal Wort), Wisteria,Water sprite, Guppy grass

In low light the Water sprite does not get the split leaves but are fuller whole leaves. I have some floating also in my tanks. I do have a sword plant but I have to put root tabs in for it to grow better. Any plants that have red leaves that you get will not grow good in low light. I did get some plastic red plants to mix in the background with my live plants for added color.

Try ludwigea repens, hygrophila 'rosenveig', and dwarf lilies. They'll add red and work well in low light. ;)
