Hi Matt, I'm just bopping in to say welcome to TFK, and also that I'm soooo envious of you. A small island down off Thailand?? *drools* Can you post pics in the off topics thread of the surroundings where you live?? The tropics are my most absolute favorite of all places here on the planet. You're sooo lucky!!

Hey Byron,

The tank length is 150cm.

Thanks again for the help!

All the best,

That's 5 feet, same as my 115g tank. [Now i can compare].

I still think T5 is going to be too much, as they seem to have 4 or more tubes. On that same site there are T8 fixtures, here's a link to one:

The tubes may be useless (says "red" ??) but if you can find 6500K tubes in T8 you wold be good to go.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

You're looking for proffesional bulbs?

They sell basic 6500k bulbs at hardware stores that work better than most "full spectrum" bulbs.
