i recently bought some plant bulbs at petsmart. i have a 10 gallon tank. i have 2 platys 2 mollies and 5 guppys. and an otto. i dont know my ph, i need to get a water testing kit. what is the best way to take care of my plants and get them to grow? i have a waterlilly and onion plant bulb. i have a heater and filter in my tank with two fake plants and a rock fixture.
should I get fertilizer? and I don't need subtrate or I do? I'm new to plants and have never had a green thumb so I wanna know all that i can. Also should I continue to use water conditoner since it takes out the minerals? and how can i get amonia to turn into amonium. and do these plants need nitrate or nitrite?
i read them, I got about a third of it. I'm normaly able to understand just about anything(I have an extraordinarly high reading comprehnsion level for a highschooler) but I feel that I don't have enough background knowledge to fully understand them.
thankyou, I would apriciate that. also my grandpa is a chemist, and i asked him how i can get the ammonia that is naturaly in my water to become ammonium which is harmless to fish, he said add a buffer to lower the ph. what kind of buffer should i use and how?
