Thanks Ches! It looks very much like Long-leaf Pondweed (Potamogeton nodosus). I am hoping I can get it to take off. As I would love to see it form a mat on the surface of my tank!

Yay! Glad I could help, and I hope you got your answer. It'd be awesome if you could get it to cover - even if that were the only thing in the tank - that would be a pretty cool effect. . . nice cover from above and all of those long stems beneath. *nods* Let me know how it does :)

Yeah it would be awesome if I could get that look which is what I am hoping for! If it does die no big deal since it didn't cost me anything. I will keep ya updated.
