Making One to many plants

is there a way to "breed" a plant as to not have to spend alot of money to buy alot??? I was wondering because i want to get some plants then "breed" them for a 10 gallon tank i want to get later. I am a n00b when it comes to plants so sorry if it is hidden in some post somewhere or something.

Well, you don't really "breed" plants but you can take cuttings to start new plants. Or some plants send out "babies" that you can cut off and plant. I had an Amazon sword that sent off a shoot with a baby plant at the end and I just cut it off and re-planted it. It depends on the type of plant. Some of the plant experts can probably help you more on this.

150 Gallon - Mostly American Cichlids
135 Gallon - Angelfish Community
75 Gallon - Odd couple (Polleni/Angelfish)
55 Gallon - African tank
20 Gallon Long - QT
10 Gallon - Empty

The quickest & easiest for you are stem plants (something like Rotala, Pennywort) pinch them half way, stick the new pieces in the ground, they'll grow up and the "old" piece will grow with 2 new sprouts like a Y. These are the quicker growing plants that can/ will cover your whole tank pretty quickly (check out my aquarium log under "New 45g" with my Rotala you'll see what I mean lol).
Other plants like Java Ferns, Amazon Swords they grow lil plants to their sides but they grow slower then the Stem plants, so it takes more time for you to "fill" your tank.
