Seems like I have always had Sd's with my hobby. I really like them. They are starting to come around, even right now we have company and they are sneaking out every now and then. I think they made a mistake and sent me a "hard bellied" Sd. They get 9"!! I'll try and find the video of my 55gal that I sold a few yrs ago and post it under that tank in my profile. The SD's got BIG. I can't imagine one getting 9" I may have to give that one away if it gets too big. But I have never had more than 4 at a time now I have 6 (bigger tank). I really wanted to get them about 2" or so but oh well. I ordered them online so I wasn't able to see what I was getting, but I'm real happy with them anyway.

My tank is also in the basement where it is quiet all day. They like that. Give your SD's some time. They'll come around and be a fun addition to your tank. Oh, and I'm going to give the java fern a whirl too
