Ive seen countless pictures of FW tanks with the bottom completley covered with this stuff that looks like grass but under water.

I really want to have my tank bottom covered with plants. Any Suggestions ? The grow pattern im looking for is short (but dont mind trimming) Fast growing Plant that covers Almost or all of the bottom of the tank. Thrives in 6,500k lightning. I Use Ferts but dont wana mess with a CO2 System unless i really have to. Thanks in advance.

Also if i have my light on for a longer time does that make the Plants grow faster?

Hummm. You're right. I do have tank pics posted but I realize they don't show the guppy grass. I'm going to try and take some pics tonight of the grass. I like the guppy grass cuz it grows planted or floating and it's bullet proof. At least so far....

With that lighting you can have anything you want! Look @ www.aquariumplants.com under ground cover microsword narrow leaf is my fav and probably the most reliable and no trimming.Dwarf hair is expert level and wont tolerate shade from another plant, now dwarf subslata is a LL weeping 3-5" hard to get going, if you like fast growing or instant beauty microsword is good and it's sold in 6 or12" sq.inch pieces for easy planning. AP is the least expensive.

I just went and looked at your light specs. You truly can grow whatever you want. I have nearly indentical lighting and everything grows well in my tank (save Java Moss...how weird is that?) including algae. Don't do what I did as a beginner...over fertilizing. I'm only now gaining ground on the battle over algae... :-(

I think your tank looks great!
