Long Stringy Things

Hi. My wife and I planted some Anacharis a few weeks ago in our 29gal. tank. It's doing well but there are some long stringy things growing down wards from the upper parts of the plants. Any ideas as to what they are? Thanks.

Natural part of the plant, not sure what they are called though but they send these runners down and anchor itself into the substrate. They are actually quite strong and unless cut they will keep the plant stable in that one area.
