It was open in this picture because petsmart was out of glass tops. I do have it covered now and I just have to move the light back to feed. Not hard at all. I didn't see any 24" shoplights when I was looking around, but they might make them.

you could make a 24" T8 shoplight out of a 48" one with a ruler, hacksaw, and some ingenuity :)

unfortunately a prefab isnt cheap..

Very nice!! Is that a 55? For $15, I might get that.

55 gallon planted tank, starting over!!!( looking crappy, needs a major rescape)

Thanks, I couldn't find it on the website, but I'll check the store itself. What part of the store were they?

They were on the home side by the light fixtures. Just look for fluorescent bulbs and shop lights should be right next to them. They were in my store anyways. YMMV

Wait, that light is 49 inches long? 2 bulbs? $15.00? Walmart? In Black? How lucky are you? I have to find something like that. Why spend $100. if I can find something like that? It looks great.

This might for you also. You can find the same at a hardware store for a few $ less or more. It's a great deal and it puts you in the upper end of moderate lighting. Heres the one I'm thinking of.http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=401X...043%2Fpage3%2F

I'm really happy with it. "Why spend $100.00." My thoughts exactly.

I tried to find some at my local lowe's and home depot, but none of them looked as nice. Most were a couple dollars more and were just plain white and had more of an opening on the end, or no endcaps at all. I like the one you linked, but I didn't find anything close to the variety they have online at the actual store. I hope your store carries more.

Do you have to have glass tops or can you just use these lights with an open tank? Thinking the humidity/moisture may accumulate on the light itself without glass tops??
