It was open in this picture because petsmart was out of glass tops. I do have it covered now and I just have to move the light back to feed. Not hard at all. I didn't see any 24" shoplights when I was looking around, but they might make them.
I ended up finding a decent looking fixture at wal-mart for ~$15. Lights of America dual T8 shop light. It's stainless steel with black endcaps. I took several pictures of how it sits on the tank because when I went looking I could never find any. I'm really happy with it and I don't think it looks bad at all. I'm running a GE 6500K daylight bulb and a GE 5000k sunlight bulb.
Very nice!! Is that a 55? For $15, I might get that.
I tried to find some at my local lowe's and home depot, but none of them looked as nice. Most were a couple dollars more and were just plain white and had more of an opening on the end, or no endcaps at all. I like the one you linked, but I didn't find anything close to the variety they have online at the actual store. I hope your store carries more.
