Just put 2 lights back to back on the tank something like 40 watt's tubes around the range of 5-6500kelvin and you're set. Yea yours is a LIL deeper, but given the fact (I hope) you're also gonna add gravel, I'd not worry about it at all. If you buy normal avg used plants you'll do just fine and actually help yourself with planting the tank rather then no plants (they act as a bio filtration). The only plant that comes to my mind right now that may be difficult to keep, cause its difficult period, is dwarf baby tears, but really anything else goes in your tank, just a matter of what YOU like on plants.

If you have a proper stock in your tank, you won't need CO2 - Look at my tanks, except for the latest 55g all these are set up with homestore lights, no co2, no ferts and the plants speak for themselves there.

I like your Avatar. Must be fun to ride a draft. Unfortunately its been a long time since I've been in the saddle.
Thanks, regarding my avatar. :) Drafts are great and fun to ride. I love the big boys! Sorry to hear it has been awhile since you have ridden. Maybe someday you can get back into it. I got back into it about 8-9 years ago. Had to get rid of my horse when I was in my young 20's (too busy to go home to ride) and got back into it later in life. I have three now....Clydesdal, Fox Trotter and Quarter Horse.
