I think I'm gonna try the dual fixture and reduce the duration from 8 hrs to 7 to combat algae.

Here I go switching fixtures once again. LOL

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

Mine just continued to fall apart, just said enough is enough as their were just stems left on most. I remember you saying in an old thread that this is kind of hit or miss as a floater. I should have never even tried it, but I was having problems finding 'true' floaters at the time.

I've been looking at wisteria plants for the last three times at the LFS and considered buying one every time. I honestly don't know why I didn't, gut said to leave it I guess.... I suppose it was a good thing I didn't given my LEDs are probably not up to some of these light levels.

Might be a good test someday though.

Jeff.

Total years fish keeping experience: 7 months, can't start counting in years for a while yet.

The shotgun approach to a planted tank with an LED fixture

Small scale nitrogen cycle with a jar, water and fish food; no substrate, filter etc
